Deya is a zoologist and the UK correspondent for Orangutan Alliance. Deya is passionate about science communication - and uses her experience as a focus for her talks in schools across the UK as well as using filmmaking as a tool to tell stories of wildlife and conservation.
Deya is involved with various groups including Ape Alliance, and Action for Conservation. After living in Central Kalimantan for over a year and working for Dr Birute Galdikas at the Orangutan Foundation International, she is driven to use her public speaking, language skills in Bahasa Indonesia and interests in art and filming, to creatively educate about orangutans and the conservation of their habitat.
GB ICE SWIMMER
Deya seeks physical challenges, and as well as an ukltra marathon runner, Deya is a cold swimming enthusiast. She is currently training for the 2020 International Ice Swimming Championships in Slovenia, where she will be competing for Great Britain.
